[3 stars] "Two garbage collectors discover the body of a powerful politician, caught dead with his pants down, in the seedy 'Pasture' - a part of town that nobody goes on legitimate business. Montalbano is brought in to discover whether it was natural causes or murder, but finds a number of hindrances in his way. I just didn't get involved with this one - I felt removed from the characters and didn't care about any of them one way or the other. It was well written and the plot was OK, although I found the ending a bit of a disappointment." - Donna M - RAM
