Disney had a concept he called "the plausable impossible". Disney and Cussler must have attended the same class. If you like non-stop adventure, heroes that almost always wind up with the women, and fantastic plots, make sure to try these books. Cussler always keeps me up nights. He is able to pull me into a story, and make everything sound completely believable, until I'm finished reading, and then I start thinking......"now WAIT a minute".....but of course, by then it's too late.

Dirk Pitt (the rich, handsome hero) not only has a senator for a father, but some of the most outlandish adventures imaginable. The intrigue attributed to foreign plots and unscrupulous madmen adds spice to the mix, and there is always a bad guy with murder, mayhem, world conquest of some sort on his mind and untold riches available. I just wish Cussler would work on his "endings" a bit more.....he spins a great tale - but somehow doesn't manage to end it as well as he writes the rest.
