Fiona Walker
My name’s Fiona Walker, and I hail from merry old England. I’m 16, and
currently studying for A Levels in Biology, English Language, Psychology and
Geography, and have vague plans to attend some university somewhere and
sometime, although to study what I have no idea.
Reading is a particular passion of mine, and I have been a devout fan of the
mystery/thriller genre ever since I first picked up Colin Dexter’s masterful
"The Daughters of Cain" at the tender age of 12, although I have since
learnt that it is not impossible for me to enjoy science fiction/fantasy,
horror, or the occasional biography. My favourite author will forever be Ruth
Rendell, although I also admire many others: Mo Hayder, Jeffery Deaver, John
Connolly, Tami Hoag, Reginald Hill, Patricia Cornwell, Kathy Reichs, James
Patterson, Val McDermid, Ian Rankin, and Thomas Harris, to name but a meagre
few. The book that unhesitatingly gets my vote for "Best Book of All
Time" is Reginald Hill’s "Dialogues of the Dead".
Among my other interests are, "hanging" with my friends, playing
tennis when I can grasp enough time, watching films, writing short stories, and
listening to music (David Gray and The Eurythmics being my favourites). In the
long-term I would love to become a writer, and I’m probably stubborn and
deluded enough to chase that dream to whatever end it may come to.
