Quaker Indictment
Irene Allen
Class/Genre:   Mystery   Woman Main Character   Amateur Sleuth
Series: Elizabeth Elliot # 4
St. Martin's; 1998; $5.99; 241 pp

The subject was the radioactive fallout downwind of the Hanover Nuclear Plant. I was worried it would be one of these preachy issues books but she did a really marvelous job of depicting many sides of this hot political issue. This is not so much a Quaker theme since Elizabeth is on vacation visiting an old college friend who passes away. The only problem I had with the book is the description of the scary behemoth black and white sheepdog that became a Border Collie towards the end of the book. To me a Border Collie is a small dog.
