Spring is about to arrive in Stony Mills, Indiana, where Maggie OšNeill lives and works. Enchantments Antiques and Fine Gifts has a witch, Liss, as proprietor and Maggiešs boss. The formerly skeptic Maggie tries to ignore her newly discovered empathic abilities

Stony Mills has a dead Amish craftsman, a haunted library and too many things that go bump in the night. With the emphasis on the supernatural in this story, Alt leaves many questions unanswered even if occasionally giving a bit of eerie feel to a few passages. She seems in need of better research as some of the Amish background as well as some police procedures do not always ring true. There is a little humor but what might have been an interesting story falls a bit flat.
