The danger in Brimful Coffers was unforeseen when several authors were coerced into creating an informal "writers' colony" in this lovely town outside of London. Everything was quite nice, in fact, until certain undesirables began to arrive. Critics and scholars. Just what they didn't need.

Then Lucinda and her friends begin receiving threats from their own fictional characters, and 'accidents' begin happening to the colony's residents. Are they losing their grip? Or does someone really want to finish them all off?

I'm sorry - I do like cozies once in a while, but this book tries too hard to be cute, and in the process really loses me. I stuck with the story through to the end, hoping it would live up to what appeared to be its original promise, but alas, the characters playacted almost as much as the resident cats. In trying to be 'cute' the author wound up with absurd.
