Billy Dye is an unsuccessful horror writer (mostly, it has to be said, because his publishers aren't actually bothering to sell his books), his girlfriend has left him, and his smart mouth makes him unpopular. Manchester gangster Malcolm Priest hires Billy to write his biography. However, he soon tires of Billy and, in true gangster style, rather than just sack him, he commissions his favourite hitman, Rawhead, to get rid of the annoyance that is Billy. A tad over the top? Perhaps. Just like the rest of this violent, warped, gothic romp of a book. In the words of The Damned - it's Grimly Fiendish :o) Outrageously funny in a horrible way. Not for the squeamish. Oh, and there are parts which you shouldn't read while eating dinner. Trust me.
