Bubba Mabry. With only ten days until his wedding with the delightful Felecia, Bubba takes on a new case to find a missing husband. In a helicopter, flying over Rio Puerto, Bubba and the pilot spot a jeep . . . which leads them to the body . . . and Bubba into a case that may make him a corpse before he is a groom. Staying out of Felecia's way while she is planning the weeding and decorating a new house is fine with Bubba, but his wise-ass mouth and bumbling nature have Bubba in someone's sights again.

I have to admit, I solved this one early on, but then I'm like that. That said, it did not take away from my enjoyment of the book. Since I could listen to Steve Brewer read a telephone book, I was delighted to find the same dry wit and one-liners in his writing. No high-tech gadgets or a larger-than-life hero, this is just plain good storytelling with a realistic protagonist that I'm happy to be able to recommend.
