Matt Donahue likes to keep to himself and not get involved. He’s retired with no set schedule, no dress code and no expectations. So why should he help his former employer who forced him into early retirement? And is now married to Matt’s ex-wife? Because Matt always does the right thing, he helps when the company’s newest computer game is held ransom. But everything goes wrong, with the ransom and for Matt. So Matt has to find out what went wrong and who is behind it because he looks like suspect number one, or worse, his life may be in danger.
Moving away from his series characters, in Whipsaw, Steve Brewer’s stand alone is adventuresome and thrilling. It is filled with solid characters that are very clearly described and, a well developed scene of San Francisco. The story moves quickly with action that keeps you attentive! Clearly a winner for Mr. Brewer.
