I received "The Shape of Water" for a birthday present. I'm not
sure how to review this book. I'm thinking that perhaps "gentle page turner"
might be the best description. How can one resist a book with the blurb "a
novel of food, wine and homicide in small town Sicily"? The solution to
the crime isn't all that difficult to surmise. What's so enjoyable are the
characters and the settings and the politics.

The book is set up in small sets so it's easy to break and leave. The problem lies in staying away---the just-one-more syndrome.

I'm truly hoping that Viking translates further books in this series (using the translator of this one, Stephen Satarelli).

How does one say that a nasty bit of murder is a gentle read?
