The Cat and the Queen of Hearts
Carole Nelson Douglas
Class/Genre:   Mystery   Cats
Series: Midnight Louie # 2
Five Star, Dec 1999

In Las Vegas, dancer Darcy McGill dreams of becoming a writer. To step closer to obtaining her goal, Darcy attends a writing class at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas. Because he believes she has talent and he is attracted to her, the instructor Stevenson Austen tries to encourage the reticent Darcy. He turns to her twin Sirene, a popular exotic dancer, to help him bolster Darcy's confidence. Stevenson, like most males, is simply overwhelmed by the beautiful Sirene. Stevenson is no longer sure, which sibling he loves. As a former paramour tries to kidnap Sirene, Stevenson with the help of Midnight Louie tries to keep her and her sister safe.

Joy to the world or at least to Five Star for reprinting the classic first quartet that introduced Midnight Louie to a grateful world. The second tale, THE CAT AND THE QUEEN OF HEARTS, is a wonderful entry that has all the magic of Louie that has charmed the audience throughout the decade. This entry as well as the other three tales in the opening four book series is Five Star books.
