The sting went bad leaving one undercover cop Paul Pendle dead and another officer Grace Flint battered by a gun handle and a boot. The two thugs escape, but nearby, sitting in his rental one of the killers Clayton Buller is found dead from a heart attack. The individual who ordered her death and danced on her visage Frank Harling is never found by the frustrated Major Crimes Task Force who want vengeance for what happened to two of their officers.

Over the next year, the amazing Grace physically heals, but psychologically she remains battered though she returns to work. While on an international money laundering assignment, Grace finds a clue about her abuser. Grace starts her own sidebar investigation to attain closure by bringing down Harling. However, Grace soon concludes that top officials of several major governments protect the money launderers including, in all probability, Harling. Unable to give it up, Grace trusts no one as she continues her Quixote-like odyssey in search of Harling.

FLINT comes out of the starting block like a hundred-meter splinter but keeps the frantic pace going for the duration of the taut story line. Our woman Flint is a wonderful character who blends fears, vulnerability, bravery, and obsession into a Belleville person. However, what makes Flint in for fans of thrillers and international police novels is that the audience, like Grace, never knows whom to trust until the very end.
