In Denver’s Brown Palace Hotel, Sarah Jamison meets with Senator Scott Taylor. Sarah wants to help elect Scott as the next President. The philandering Scott wants to bed Sarah. However, before they can work out their cross purposes, two visitors come to Scott’s suite. While Sarah hides in the bedroom, one of them assassinates Scott for not cooperating. Peaking into the next room, Sarah recognizes one of the individuals as a DC heavyweight.

Eighteen months later, Jake Savelle has lost everything trying to prove that his brother-in-law Scott was not killed during a random robbery. His wife divorced him and most of his friends deserted him. Finally, the Colorado bar has disbarred him due to claims of sexual misbehavior by a female juror. He feels he has reached rock bottom when the anonymous call came claiming there was a female witness to Scott’s murder. Jake begins making inquiries until he finds a name Sarah and a location Aspen. As he goes undercover in an attempt to persuade Sarah to step forward, he already is half in love with her just from his investigation. However, his enemies know every step he has taken to locate Sarah.

SEARCHING FOR SARAH is a fabulous investigative tale with romantic overtures. The story line centers on Jake’s obsession to uncover the truth even though he hurts or places in danger his loved ones. Jake sees the world as right or wrong with no fuzziness in between the two poles. Sarah is a wonderfully complex heroine whose dysfunctional family provides her nothing but anguish. Ms. Erickson shows why she is a RITA winner who deserves accolades from mystery and romance buffs.
