As if I didn't have enough trouble remembering that the lovable Jessica Fletcher is a fictional character, Donald Bain has elevated her to co-author status, which really makes it difficult NOT to think of her as a flesh-and-blood individual!

In this exciting new installment of Jessica Fletcher's and Donald Bain's Murder, She Wrote series, Jessica has just finished up an exhausting book signing tour and is ready for some well-earned time off. Her publisher and friend, Vaughn, and his wife Olga, have purchased a beautiful home-away-from-home in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, and they invite Jessica to join them there for some rest and relaxation. Getting there proves to be more dangerous than expected -

perhaps a harbinger of things to come. When Vaughn is kidnapped and his ex-patriot friend and neighbor found murdered, Jessica finds herself embroiled in a real-life murder mystery. She knows that if Vaughn is going to have any chance of being found alive, she is going to have to forget about relying on the local authorities and get involved whether they like it or not.

This book is a fast-paced and very enjoyable cozy. Fans of the Murder, She Wrote television series will certainly enjoy this book series as well. It is very easy to picture Angela Lansbury, the actress who gave heart to Jessica Fletcher, while reading the books. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of this series!
