As a genealogist I am always delighted to find another entry into the extremely small collection of mysteries with any genealogical theme. Nothing on the back cover gave me a clue a genealogical search was the primary theme. What a delightful surprise.

Mother Lavinia Gray stumbles across a son and granddaughter attempting to bury a deceased woman's ashes with her husband Mr. Smith. An un-locateable grave and missing gravestones and multiple Mr. Smith's leads them through a complicated decades old mystery with several twists.

Within the genealogy sub-genre this is a winner, very realistic in terms of the search experience. There was also a lot of character development in this one. I got to know Mother Gray and Dave Dogg a lot better.
