New York City's Saint Patricks day parade sets the scene for this third tale in the Danny O'Flaharty series. In a departure from usual series practive, Mr. Harrington has moved his protagonist to a new locale in each book, and to another continent in this effort leaving all his established setting and characters behind except for Danny and Fidelma who plays a less active role in this book. Also this time around Danny is back to teaching where he had been before the series began. This is the first series I've experienced where such complete change has occurred and I found it refreshing. The whole tone of the storytelling changed to match the subject matter which address Irish current affairs, politics, terrorism and the Irish American culture of New York City. This book is very different from the first two in the series. Again there are autopsy details which disallow classification as a cozy by most peoples standards, but I doubt many readers who favor cozies would find it outside their comfort zone. I always love a book where the ending suprises me. Another very good story which should appeal to a wide range of reader tastes
