Sam Moss returns to Persuasion, Alabama, an endangered species of a town that is shrinking with only two hundred or so families in the "metropolitan" area. Sam earned a reputation for his behavior in his previous time in town, but came home to establish a small church here because he needs to make up for his past sins. He also returned to Persuasion because here is the place where his prayers that he obtains a second chance with Nicolette Dorsey, whose love he destroyed, can occur. Sam rents a room from Nic’s aunts knowing that his beloved comes south once a year between Thanksgiving and Christmas for an annual family gathering.
Nic arrives with her child in tow only to find the man who nearly destroyed her waiting for her. Sam tries to prove he is different, but has an uphill battle. He not only needs to convince Nic, he must get pass her sisters first and then there is his distrustful congregation trying to send him packing too.
THE SNOWBIRDS is an entertaining romance centering on second chances to redeem one’s heart and soul. The gently paced story line is filled with humor that helps take some of the edge away from the seriousness of Sam’s pursuit. Readers who enjoy a warm sympathetic family drama will be persuaded that Sam and the Dorsey sisters make quite a combination.
