Miles Van Meter is the author of a riveting best-selling novel called "Sleeping Beauty". The story begins at a book-signing in a mystery bookstore on the outskirts of Seattle. The original novel told the story of the crimes of a serial killer who attacked his sister and sent her into a coma lasting several years. Now that his sister has recovered from the coma and the killer is on death row, the book has been updated and re-released. At the signing, Miles reads the first chapter of Sleeping Beauty . . .

. . and the story of Ashley Spencer begins.

This is a completely enthralling thriller that kept me up waaaaaaay past my bedtime and reading through the night. Much more would give too much of the plot away as it unfold throughout Sleeping Beauty. Margolin grabs hold with the first few pages and never lets go . . . right through to the last page. Plot twists and turns try to keep up with a serial killer at large and a young girl on the run, who matures and finds the strength to face the man stalking her. The gentle ribbing of the book world is an added bonus.
