Take a wild walk through Dallas society with Andy Kendricks who is just not into the debutante scene but cannot seem to stay out of it. Andy’s mother Cissy Blevins Kendricks is one of the society leaders in Dallas but Andy is a debutante dropout.
Andy agrees to attend a “pretty party” with her friend Janet Graham against her better judgment. A “pretty party” is quite the rage right now. It is something like a Tupperware party only the guests get a few shots of Botox from Dr. Sonja Madhavi. Dr. Sonja is the one to go to for improved looks but that did not happen to be the case for Miranda DuBois. Miranda got some shots that backfired and left her with a tic in one eye and a droop in the corner of her mouth. No way could Miranda appear on TV with these imperfections.
Miranda appears at the “pretty party” drunk and with a gun. After the screaming and Miranda is restrained Andy agrees to drive her home. Andy leaves Miranda sleeping but finds out the next day that she is the last person to see Miranda DuBois alive.
Although they were schoolmates but never really friends, Andy feels that the verdict of suicide is wrong. She is sure that Miranda is too selfish and vengeful to take the easy way out.
Andy is determined to stay out of the investigation but with the input of her mom and the urging of her friend Janet she winds up right in the middle of a dangerous situation.
Too Pretty To Die is a fun and fast read.
