Robert B. Parker
Class/Genre:   Mystery   Private Investigator
Series: Spenser # 34
Penguin Group, 2006, 291 pps.

Spenser is back and this time April Kyle, a name from his past, appears at Spenser’s office asking for help. April is now in charge of a high-class house of prostitution and someone is giving her trouble. Since Spenser has helped her in the past she decides that he is just the person she needs to bail her out.

But April isn’t being honest with Spenser and her lies weave a tangled web that Spenser and Hawk have trouble untangling.

Susan is still around as well as Pearl. Hundred-Dollar baby is humorous if you like Spenser and Parker’s wit. There’s some mystery and suspense and a lot of tough guys. Hundred-Dollar Baby is a fast read and a must if you are a Spenser fan.
