3rd Degree is the third book in the Women’s Murder Club series, set in San Francisco. The book once again brings together Lindsay Boxer, now a Lieutenant in homicide, Cindy Thomas, Chronicle reporter, medical examiner Claire Washburn and Assistant District Attorney Jill Bernhardt. This group has become very close, loyal friends who would do anything for each other.

A town house owned by an Internet millionaire is blown up as Lindsay passes by and she risks her life to save a child inside the house. This incident is only the beginning of a series of tragic deaths that leads the San Francisco police department to call in federal agencies to try and put a stop to the reign of terror brought about by a group calling themselves The August Spies.

These soldiers who have declared war on the agents of greed and corruption in our society as they state in one of their notes are actually pawns being used by their leader to satisfy his long-standing personal vendettas.

3rd Degree brings a new romance to Lindsay’s life but cuts to the heart of the Women’s Murder Club when one of their own meets with violence.

I did not want to lay this book down and am quite anxious to read another Women’s Murder Club mystery.
