Angie Amalfi's latest job is staff support for a radio chef call-in show. Soon the San Francisco world of restauranteurs is rocked as a chef dies under suspicious circumstances and the rest of the elite among them fall under suspicion.

Her romance with detective Paavo Smith moves along predictably but with a little less distrust and miscommunication than average in the genre. I found this pleasantly refreshing. While there was nothing outstanding about this particular effort, neither was it a disappointment.

It's a not so cozy easy read. Pence delivered about what I expected.
