It’s Thomas Pitt’s turn this time around, as Perry switches between the two series that she writes. A diplomat is murdered and Thomas is investigating the sticky situation with political overtones. The investigation involves The Seven Dials, a part of London from where the book draws its name. He also makes his way to Egypt to further his investigation. While this is taking place, Pitt’s wife Charlotte is doing some investigating of her own. A bit of a missing persons case involving someone that their house maid knows.

Perry does a wonderful job combining the story lines in this book as well as filling in a history of Egypt at the time. Perry owns this era and proves it once again with this book.
