SOUTHHAMPTON ROW is the 22nd Anne Perry mystery featuring Charlotte and Thomas Pitt and as the series moves closer to the 20th century so does Ms. Perry’s plotting. For those who read last’s year’s THE WHITE CHAPEL CONSPIRACY you’ll be happy to hear that “South Hampton” picks up right after. Pitt has been reinstated in his old post but soon finds himself demoted once again to Special Branch and yes , hot on the trail of Sir Charles Voisey (one of the best of Mystery’s bad guys). Sir Voisey has political aspirations and Pitt must wade through turn of the century politics, spiritualism, and Murder to try and curtail Voisey’s ambitions. Will he be successful? Will he get back to Bow Street? And who killed Maude Lamont? Step back in time, grab an afghan and a cuppa’ and let yourself enjoy an entertaining battle of minds.
