Liz Hanlon is a talented musician struggling to become successful in the business. A promising big break is stalled when her cousin is found dead in the club being prepared for her show. Liz and other friends in the business are being threatened but donąt know why. Mysterious notes are showing up wherever Liz goes and seem to become more threatening. The story moves well as Liz combines a music career with an attempt at sleuthing.

This novel offers an interesting look at aspects of the music business. The well defined characters are interesting, and the plausible story has lots of detail from past and present. Though violence in the story itself is minimal, there is a nasty description of violent torture occurring in the past. While Liz is presented as an interesting well-rounded character we never get under her skin to her emotional level. At the end of the book although I liked her I didnąt feel I knew her.

Liz Hanlon has enough going for her to be a multifaceted memorable character if we can just get beneath her skin to bring that extra dimension. A second book in the series is planned.
