First in the Father Mark Townsend series, it was an excellent first effort. I'm embarrassed as an Alaskan that I found this only because it was recommended by someone on RAM. The author has an exquisite sense of place and deep knowledge of Alaska from a rural Alaska point of view. And the storyline was deeply entwined with Alaska specific detail. While all the clues were there and I caught those that were critical I didn't deduce the correct solution.

This is the best fictional visit to Bush Alaska I've ever read. However I expect that since both the priest and the detective were from Seattle the rest of the series may be set elsewhere.
