After being away for nine years, Olivia Morrison returns to her Baton Rouge home accompanied by her eight-year old daughter Sara. The only request that could have brought Olivia back to LaAngelle Plantation is the letter from her beloved step-Aunt Callie Archer, who is dying from cancer. Callie raised Olivia when her mother died. Olivia left as a teen to marry Newell Morrison, but their relationship ended in divorce and his remarrying.

Her greeting at the plantation turns ugly when the family patriarch Big John suffers a debilitating heart attack upon seeing Olivia. However, the Olivia who left as a child running wild is now a mature adult. She helps her step-cousin Seth with his problems with his daughter Chloe. Though Seth is engaged, he and Olivia fall in love. Then there remains the problem of a serial killer, who has periodically murdered little girls for three decades and who is now is stalking Sara.

GHOST MOON is a steamy regional romantic suspense that will please Karen Robards’ fans. The sexual tension between Olivia and Seth is so hot, one wonders how no on else burns up in their path. The characters are fully developed and the impact on a child’s psyche of being abandoned by a parent is brilliantly interwoven into the story line. The subplot involving several chapters starring the serial killer distracts the reader even though Ms. Robards eventually ties that thread back to the prime tapestry. As with THE MIDNIGHT HOUR, Ms. Robards has bewitched her audience with an entertaining and exciting tale.
