There is an old saying that a cat has nine lives but is it possible that we humans could also have more than one life? Josh Ryder lives in the 21st Century and is a photo-journalist on assignment in Rome. When a bomb explodes, Josh suddenly finds himself in Rome but 1,600 years earlier. His mind keeps returning to haunting scenes in ancient Rome.

Once he is fully recovered from his injury he continues to have flash backs to other times and other lives. Josh gives up his job as well as his marriage and joins The Phoenix Foundation, a research facility that documents past life experiences. Although The Phoenix Foundation works only with children, Dr. Malachai Samuels and Dr. Beryl Talmage agree to work with Josh.

Dr. Samuels and Josh travel to Rome where Professor Gabriella Chase has discovered an ancient tomb. Josh feels that he knows the tomb and is familiar with the secrets buried there. These secrets put both Josh and Gabriella in danger. Will the secret of the tomb bring revealing facts to the public eye or will the ones who desire to possess the secret for their own purposes win out?

The Reincarnationist is a very thought provoking book and a real novel of suspense that I am very glad I had the pleasure of reading.
