Bubbles Yablonsky is an ex-hairdresser, wantabe reporter and a real delight. Bubbles is trying out for a permanent reporter position when Carol Weaver appears at her door on a sleeting Sunday night. Carol has been convicted for the murder of her husband Hal Weaver an executive at Lehigh Steel. She has just escaped from prison and is begging Bubbles to help clear her.

Carol approached Bubbles because Bubbles was a manicurist who did acrylic nails. The police had concluded that Carol’s nails were the murder weapons. It seems that cyanide was found on Carol’s nails when the police arrived at the crime scene.

Although Bubbles doesn’t buy into Carol’s story of needing to be out of jail because her daughter Kaira is expecting a baby when an intruder breaks into Bubbles home and shoots bullets into her bed she decides she must get to the bottom of this mystery.

With the help of Bubbles boyfriend Stiletto as well as her mom and her sidekicks she eventually gets her story. The readers will not only enjoy a pretty good mystery and a few laughs but also there’s even a few beauty hints thrown in.
