Amanda Peters is the Mi'kmaq-Canadian novelist behind The Berry Pickers (2023). The Berry Pickers won the 2024 Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Fiction and was a Barnes & Noble Discover Pick and an Indigo Best Book of 2023. The novel is the canonical contemporary Indigenous Canadian literary debut on the migrant-labor and missing-children histories of mid-twentieth-century Maine and Nova Scotia.
