Affiliate Disclosure

How we make money, and what does and does not influence our reviews.

Affiliate links

Books'n'Bytes participates in the Amazon Associates Program, the Bookshop.org affiliate program, and other affiliate programs noted on individual pages (Audible, Libro.fm, ReMarkable, Kobo, OwlCrate, FairyLoot, Illumicrate, Book of the Month, and others).

When you click an affiliate link on this site and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. The commission is paid by the retailer, not by you.

We disclose affiliate relationships clearly on the pages where affiliate links appear. The disclosure is also visible in our footer on every page.

What affiliate links do not affect

Our editorial reviews are independent. Specifically:

Advertising

The site may display third-party advertising, including through Google AdSense. Advertising is automated and selected by the ad network based on the page content and (with your consent) your interests. We do not have editorial control over which specific ads appear.

Advertising revenue does not affect our editorial decisions. We do not write or promote book reviews to drive ad impressions on specific pages.

Newsletter and email captures

When you sign up for our newsletter or save an AI-recommendation list, we use your email only to send what you signed up for. We do not sell, rent, or share newsletter email addresses with third parties. See our Privacy Policy for the full details on how we handle email information.

Specific affiliate programs

Amazon Associates

Books'n'Bytes is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.

Bookshop.org

Books'n'Bytes is an affiliate of Bookshop.org, which supports independent bookstores. Purchases through our Bookshop.org links share revenue with a network of independent bookstores in addition to providing us with an affiliate commission.

Audiobook platforms

We participate in affiliate programs with Audible, Libro.fm, and other audiobook platforms reviewed on our site. Audiobook affiliate commissions typically come from new subscriptions or per-credit purchases.

eReader and hardware

Our hardware reviews (Kindle, Kobo, ReMarkable, Boox) include affiliate links to retailers. We do not accept review units in exchange for guaranteed coverage and we disclose when a device has been provided for review purposes.

Book subscription boxes

Our book box reviews (Book of the Month, OwlCrate, FairyLoot, Illumicrate, Aardvark) include affiliate links to subscription signups. We have purchased subscriptions to each box at our own expense for review purposes.

Editorial independence statement

Our reviews reflect our actual opinions of the books and products we have read or tested. We disclose all material connections that could affect editorial decisions. If you ever see something on the site that seems like a conflict of interest, please tell us at /contact.

Federal Trade Commission compliance

This disclosure is provided in accordance with the United States Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR Part 255: “Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising.”
