Charles Frazier is the American novelist behind Cold Mountain (1997, National Book Award), Thirteen Moons (2006), Nightwoods (2011), and Varina (2018). Cold Mountain is the canonical contemporary American historical novel of the Civil War and the basis for the 2003 Anthony Minghella film adaptation.
