Edith Eger

Dr. Edith Eger is the Hungarian-American psychologist and Holocaust survivor behind The Choice (2017) and The Gift (2020). Eger was a sixteen-year-old ballerina sent to Auschwitz in May 1944 and was selected by Josef Mengele to dance for him the night she arrived. She survived the death march to Gunskirchen and was liberated by the U.S. 71st Infantry in May 1945. Eger has practiced clinical psychology in California for forty years.
