Elena Ferrante is the Italian novelist behind the Neapolitan Novels (2011-2014: My Brilliant Friend, The Story of a New Name, Those Who Leave and Those Who Stay, The Story of the Lost Child), The Lost Daughter (2006), and The Lying Life of Adults (2019). Ferrante is a pen name; the writer's identity has never been publicly confirmed and the work is published in English in Ann Goldstein's translations.
