Isabel Wilkerson

Isabel Wilkerson is the American journalist and former New York Times Chicago bureau chief behind Caste (2020) and The Warmth of Other Suns (2010, National Book Critics Circle Award). Wilkerson became the first Black American woman to win the Pulitzer Prize in journalism in 1994. Caste is the canonical contemporary popular history of the American hierarchical-power system.
