John Irving
John Irving is the American novelist behind The World According to Garp (1978), A Prayer for Owen Meany (1989), The Cider House Rules (1985), The Hotel New Hampshire (1981), and The Last Chairlift (2022). Irving is one of the canonical contemporary American maximalist literary novelists. The Cider House Rules adaptation won Irving an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay in 2000.
