Jussi Adler-Olsen is the Danish thriller writer behind the Department Q series, a cold-case Copenhagen police procedural in the Nordic Noir tradition. Mercy (The Keeper of Lost Causes) is the entry point. The series has been adapted into both Danish and Netflix-produced films.
