Max Allan Collins is the American crime writer behind the Nathan Heller Chicago detective series (Edgar-winning, decades long), the Quarry hitman novels, the graphic novel Road to Perdition (filmed by Sam Mendes in 2002), and one of the strongest novelization careers in the genre (Saving Private Ryan, Air Force One, In the Line of Fire).
