Silvia Moreno-Garcia is the Mexican-Canadian novelist behind Mexican Gothic (2020), Gods of Jade and Shadow (2019), Velvet Was the Night (2021), The Daughter of Doctor Moreau (2022), and Silver Nitrate (2023). Mexican Gothic is the canonical contemporary Latin American gothic horror novel and won the 2020 Locus Award and the 2020 Bram Stoker Award.
