Skate Crime is one of the later Alina Adams figure-skating mysteries, with Bex Levy returning to her ABC-Sports researcher role at a high-stakes international competition. The skating world's politics (judging coalitions, federation favoritism, what happens when a country's star is past her prime) carry the book.
Adams writes the broadcast-trucks-and-locker-rooms world with the insider precision that distinguishes the series. The case is fair. The pacing is reliable.
Three stars. Reliably enjoyable for skating fans. Best read in series order.
