Rhys Bowen is the pen name of Janet Quin-Harkin, a Welsh-American author writing two long-running historical mystery series: the Molly Murphy Edwardian New York mysteries and the Royal Spyness 1930s aristocrat-sleuth mysteries. The Royal Spyness books are the better-known and the wittier.
