My Big Fat Supernatural Wedding is the 2006 Charlaine Harris-edited paranormal anthology with the central conceit of supernatural creatures (or humans involved with them) at weddings. The contributors include Harris herself (a Sookie story), Sherrilyn Kenyon (Dark-Hunters universe), Esther Friesner (her wonderfully comic register), L. A. Banks (Vampire Huntress Legend), Susan Krinard, and others.
The Esther Friesner contribution is one of the strongest, in her recognizable comic-fantasy voice. The Harris Sookie story uses the wedding premise productively. The L. A. Banks piece is the most actually weighty.
Four stars. A solidly enjoyable theme anthology. Recommended to fans of the contributors or to readers who want a sampler of the mid-2000s paranormal romance scene.
